Committee Chairmen: Diane Thompson, General Chair; Marcia Grabinski, Asst. General Chair and
Merchandise Coordinator; Carla Cooley and Sally Rasmussen, Signage; Tracy and Gary Peterson and Sue
Hiscocks, Cashiers.
The Spring Sale will happen on May 4, 2024. The doors will open at 8:00am and the Sale will conclude
at 1:00pm. The Sale will be Cash Only – and if you are a big buyer, we can hold your purchases till you
can get to an ATM.
There are many items already delivered to CLUMC and we expect more by May 4. Items in the
Fellowship Hall will be categorized by use (kitchen, seasonal, bedding, etc.) and will be sold by donation
rather than having price tags. Suggested prices will be scattered around the room to give people ideas
of costs, but the actual price will be up to them. Furniture will be available on the 1st floor; furniture will
have prices attached. Tools and automotive, garden, and yard items will be in the garage.
Entrances/exits to customers will be the north portico doors and the south single office door.
There will be no early sales.
Proceeds of the Sale will go to Kids and Families – Food Insecurity within the Clear Lake School System.
This is the first garage sale for CLUMC. Other churches have hosted garage sales with success, so
hopefully this will be the first of many Spring/Fall Sales at CLUMC. It will be an all-church event.
The committee wants this sale to be a community-wide event. Already many of our items have been
donated by non-Methodists and it is our hope that all residents of the area will come to buy/donate.
Unsold items with either go to a salvage yard (metal, aluminum, etc.) or to Restore/Habitat.
We encourage all members of CLUMC to take some part in this event. Obviously, bringing and buying
items are great ways to support the Sale, but we need people to help as well. Listed below are
days/times within the next two weeks when there are volunteer opportunities. Sign-up sheets will be
on the Potluck tables after church. If you can help, please let us know. If you would like to give a
donation to the Sale, that would be great too; be sure to mark it so the office will know it is for the Sale.
Here are days/times that we need helpers:
Monday afternoon April 29 – 1:30-3:30 Organizing Sale items
Monday evening April 29 – 6:30-8:00 Organizing Sale items
Tuesday morning April 30 – 9:30 – 11:30 Organizing Sale items

SATURDAY MAY 4 SALE DAY 8:00 – 1:00 General helping out

Many members of CLUMC have already helped us prepare for the Spring Sale and we are grateful for
their help. The Committee has had fun putting this event together – and since it is the first one, there
have been many things to figure out. We would welcome your comments after May 4 to help us
prepare for the CLUMC Fall Sale 2024.
